The 79th Academy Awards Winner for Best Picture for 2006, Martin Scorsese’s “The Departed.”

Excellent episode! It got to the point where I actually watch movies just so that I can hear you guys talk about it. Can you believe it?
Though I wanted to disagree on a point you made about Tarantino “glorifying violence”, I don’t think that’s his aim. I just think he has fun with it and it’s obviously a key ingredient of the Exploitation films he loves so much, so his films reflect that. I don’t necessarily think he’s pursuing any kind of propaganda in that kind of sense. Natural Born Killers is where you can see it best. It’s very in your face social commentary I’ll agree with that, but he just loves entertaining films and violence happens to have the greatest traditions of mass entertainment ever since the dawn of mankind (and movies are products for the masses, mostly). At least he’s not actually hurting anyone (phisically)
