In 1986, James Cameron released the sequel one of the most well-received film of the 70s, Ridley Scott’s “Alien.” In his film, “Aliens,” he didn’t recycle what made the first film successful but he transported the material to a different genre, sensibly and pace, by taking what was essentially a haunted house horror film and making it a military, men on a mission action movie. “Aliens” went on to be heralded as one of the best films of 1986 and garnered seven Academy Awards nominations including Best Actress for Sigourney Weaver.
