In 1994, after the success of “Terminator 2: Judgement Day,” James Cameron decided to make a bigger movie with Arnold Schwzenegger, only this time Schwzenegger played a family man who was a secret government spy. “True Lies” was a great mixture of comedy, action and family drama and serves as a remake of the French action film, “La Totale!” The film was a box office success but the film very conventional for the groundbreaking director.

How did James Cameron balance high octane action with a family drama? Why is Arnold Schwzenegger seen differently in “True Lies” than any one of his past films? And why is “True Lies” considered a conventional film by James Cameron’s standards?
