In 1955, Billy Wilder would release the first of three feature films this year. “The Seven Year Itch” was adapted from the hit Broadway play to the big screen and told the story of a man trying to stay faithful to his family while a sexy, blonde bombshell played famously by Marilyn Monroe taunted and teased him from her upstairs apartment. Despite the difference between the play and film, “The Seven Year Itch” remains one of the funniest movies of the 1950s.
